3rd XI Vs Elland: June 24th​ ​

Back to back 20 point wins for the third team see them in the top four and they also find themselves in a Rod Warhurst cup semi-final against Traingle on July 1st.

They warmed up with a convincing win against Elland. The game took place at Stainland as the Elland 1st and 2nd teams were stil lin cup action, this had a big impact on the Elland side as they were only able to field 8 men.

Sowerby Captain Nigel Stokes won the toss and elected to field, and the opening bowlers started brilliantly and struck in the second over, Liam Senior the bowler, Ali the catcher at mid-wicket to dissmiss the Elland captain. 14 year old Tom fryer was very economical bowling 5 overs for just 4 .

Captian Nigel Stokes replaced Fryer and was immidiately in the wickets and finished with 5, Aiden Greeen showed a moment of brilliance when he hit the stumps on the move from cover,

Elland were Bowled out for 68.

Fryer and Green Opened the innings but both fell cheaply and Sowerby were in trouble at 9-2, But Senior (30) increased the scoring rate along with Mohammad Younas 22 not out as Sowerby chased down the total with 30 overs to spare.

Match result: Sowerby Win by 7 wickets.
